Week 8’s presentation takes on the correlations being made in popular media about the similarities between the AIDS pandemic and our current moment dealing with COVID-19. The presenters, Thomas (he.him) & Eugene (he.him), will put them in dialogue, look at the lasting effects of the AIDS pandemic on marginalized communities, see how public figures are entangled in both pandemics, and look at the ways people are organizing for equity and justice in the face of ignorance and malfeasance.
