Value-Aligned Movements at/against
University of California
Strike University grew out of a movement moment - that movement being UC graduate student’s fight for a Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA). Since then, much of the organizing around COLA has been redirected towards a UC-wide abolitionist campaign. In the past year, our organization has flourished and we have forged many connections with both university-based and community-based organizations across the US.
Strike U hopes to work in coalition with other movements. We strive to build a community where different folks from different social movements can educate and support each other. Below is a list of movements that align with our values. Not all Strike U members are involved in all the following campaigns; this list reflects the diversity and decentralized nature of this coalitional space. We do not seek a singular voice, but seek a multiplicity of strategies, as long as they are aligned towards a common vision.
