Designs on Democracy:
Graphic Design for Social Justice

Facilitated by Sabiha Basrai (Co-Owner of Design Action Collective, Co-coordinator of Alliance of South Asians Taking Action, Center for Political Education Advisory Board Member)

As media makers and social justice activists, how can we best develop strategic visual communication to win campaigns and stay accountable to the leadership of community organizers? How does our work fit into the grander strategy of change? Join Sabiha Basrai for a presentation on campaign graphics from Design Action Collective's body of work followed by a Q&A about the Collective's collaborative design process.

This lecture will focus on the principles and critical thinking skills necessary for effective visual communication for campaigns. We will focus on case studies that put the tools of art making in the hands of activists and organizers.

Audience: General public. Particularly interesting for artists, graphic designers, and activists.

This training will be RECORDED.
