Building Community Ferment: Sourdough Starters



Facilitator: Stephanie Maroney

Facilitator Bio: Stephanie Maroney is a feminist food studies and science & technology studies scholar,whose research analyses how the science of the human microbiomeshapes how we engage with our multi-species bodies and the bodies ofothers. She is currently exploring radical futures with fungus in aninterdisciplinary research group of artists, scientists, humanists,and practitioners, including a mycelial futures storytelling game.

Workshop Description: Join Stephanie on Zoom and learn how to make sourdoughstarter with just flour and water. She will demonstrate using thestarter as a batter for savory pancakes made with kitchen leftovers. This event is part of an ongoing series hosted by the Yolo CountyLibrary - Davis branch.
